I could go on and on of course. Here is my point, Perhaps it’s not what we do that offends people but simply that people are offendable. We all have these sacred cows that unfortunately are at the the top of the menu for others. Lying offends me. But perhaps a person would lie out of fear or self preservation. Yet my dogmatic disdain for it would have me tear into that person. Corruption Offends me, but there’s a downward spiral that leads one to corruption. Yet, in the end I chooe to judge the person they became instead of the struggle that led them there. A couple words like Empathy and Sympathy would seem to be where we should focus. Instead of being so easily offended, perhaps we should react like Christ did when he encountered the CORRUPT tax collector, Or when he met the woman at the well that chose to withold her past from him. Instead of getting our feather’s ruffled by something that doesn’t line up with our doctrine, theology, world view, etc. Perhaps we should look deep into whats offending us and ask ourselves, “Is that how others feel when they see me?” or “How would the Master react?” Did Christ offend people? Oh yes, You Gotta wonder about a species that would be offended at perfection at its creator.
sorry if I offended you (not my intention)…
I was not nor will I be offended by your posts. I have known you for a long time and know who a few of your mentors were/are. So I can pretty much expect certain things and ways of thinking from you…not to say that your way is wrong. To each his or her own right? But, my convictions are what they are and I will stand for them (in love) till my time ends regardless of who is offended, whom I loose along the way or who ends up out right hating me. Jesus said that they will hate us because the first hated Him, they were offended by this man…who taught a different way. That is all I want, to offer up a different way of thinking that lines up with the WORDS of Christ. It is time for us to stop being cookie cutter christians and be the bride that Christ will return for, to set an example for the youth and for the rest of our world.
So I am ok with stepping on some toes once in a while, heck I am even ok with having mine stepped on a lot. ;0)
BTW: If I were offened I woudn’t come back right. ;p

You know Marc I’m offended that you would say that I will offend some offendable person at some offensive point in time. Clearly that is an offensive thing to say.
No offense
Sorry Ellie, But this blog had nothing to do with you or the previous blog. It was a line of thought derived from contemplating a difference of opinion with a classmate. I’m glad I didn’t offend you, not that its my goal to offend anybody. Although Christ had some confrontive things to say about offense. I dont believe your trying to say that Christ came to offend. I also dont think your trying to say that that should be our goal. I think you would agree that Christ’s desire was to draw all me unto himself. Jesus took the stance he had on offense because he understood humanity not because he didn’t care. Needless to say, weve all got some fight in us that could probably be replaced with love. Like I said look at who they were offended at. The creator of all things. How pridefull can we be as humans that we would get offended at God? How full of ourselves can we be. I think we prove it to each other everyday.
i find it amusing that i dont get offended easily.. maybe i’m strange.
JK!
ALTHOUGH! I dooo get offended when its directed to me.. but usually ppl dont do that kinda stuff to your face.. maybe i’m to not free persay but i dont care much unless it involves me.. i’m a little vain, yep i think we all can agree. haha. notice my newer, less contraversial blog gets less attention.
I suppose we could go on there and debate whether or not tv is a sin..(i don’t think it is a sin, just a waste of time and yet another way to be programmed by commericalizm aka *the government* lol) ;P
No way man, The Government isn’t using TV as a tool to program us. At least not anymore. They have moved onto cell phones and iPods! theyre gonna get us on the go.
